What data do we collect and process

We collect your data when you complete a membership application form. This information is stored on the club website but can only be accessed by committee members to enable them to carry out their duties on behalf of the club. This information cannot be seen by the general public

We collect data such as name, address, email address, telephone number and emergency contact numbers. This information is only used to inform members of club activities or if we need to use your emergency contacts in case of emergency.

Please be aware your contact details will be passed on to the British Caving Association (not your emergency contact details) for insurance purposes. In respect of the details given to the BCA you can find more information on their Privacy Notice on the BCA website at british-caving.org.uk/privacy_notice which sets out how this data will be used.

How long we keep your personal data

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Your rights

If you have informed us that your personal data is inaccurate you have the right to have your data corrected on our systems. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

You have the right to ask us to confirm what information we hold about you at any time, and you may ask us to modify, update or delete it. At this point we may ask you to verify your identity, or ask for more information about your request. If your interests or requirements change you can ask us to modify, update or delete your data.
